ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR 2017
Feb 10th, 2017
To our valued customers,
With 2017 well underway, let me take a moment of your time to apprise you of some exciting changes that Silver City will be implementing this year. We at Silver City are redoubling our efforts to improve the customer experience that you receive, many changes are planned for the year and some are currently underway.
Some of you may know Sherry Brunelle from her previous position as Office Administrator. Sherry excelled at her duties and has come to know our customers well. In her new position as Production Coordinator/Shipper, she will be bringing several new approaches that we believe will help us serve you better.
We will be evaluating the use of scheduled shipping and delivery times in order to eliminate current excessive wait times. The entrance to our yard will be widened this year to accommodate more trucks to expedite loading and unloading times and make navigation in our yard easier. We are currently looking into offsite storage and off shift loading options to accommodate quicker turn-arounds for your orders.
We are currently implementing electronic systems for scheduling and tracking your orders through our shop. We are implementing greater process controls to further improve the quality of coating on your products. Many of your jobs are time sensitive and we would like to be a part of that solution; to that we are training additional shop personnel to staff a night shift for 24 hour production capabilities. The extra shift will enable us to increase our capacity at a moment’s notice.
In order for Silver City Galvanizing to remain a competitive supplier to the steel industry and serve its customers towards the future, effective March 1, 2017, we have implemented a zinc premium in addition to our current pricing structure. The zinc premium will be charged on the total weight of the invoice. If the LME’s zinc prices fall, our zinc premium will also fall in relation.
We are looking forward to an exciting and busy year.
